Petra
Petra is an old city established by Nabataeans in
around 300 to 400 BC. The site is a major tourist attraction and is famous for
its rock cut architecture and rose-red color. The city lies near Dead Sea and
is UNSCO World Heritage Site. It is also one of the ‘New Seven Wonders of the world’.
Due to its color and beautiful architecture, the city
which rapidly declined in the period of Romans, is a major tourist attraction
today, and was found in the starting of 19th century by the western
world.
