BMW Welt

BMW Welt

It was designed by Coop Himmelblau, and was constructed between 2003 and 2007 to serve as a BMW showroom and provide the customers with magnificent experiences. The building is located in the Olympic park in the middle of the campus of BMW in a total area of 25000 m2 in a major market area of Munich, Germany. The structure is inspired from the Mayan Architecture where triangular shaped girders were used to produce the required geometry and also support the structure. The building consists of ultramodern restaurants, shopping center, simulators to show the performance of the car, elaborate display space for BMW cars and recreation area too. The entire roof area of 16500 m2 is lined with solar panels which produce enough electricity to run the building; hence it is environment friendly too. With its modern architecture, it is a landmark since the date of its construction.
